When I founded  Haven Films in 2010, my goal was to produce character-driven projects that would provoke discussion and leave an impression on the viewer. Over the past decade, it has become more important than ever for independent artists to reclaim their respective fields from complacent consumerist attitudes and the worship of trends. In a world of sequels, remakes, endless superhero flicks, and a glut of streaming content, movies and shows have become fast food for the eyes; something to quickly consume on a phone screen or to play in the background on a TV before moving on to the next bit of content. At Haven Films, we want to produce films that attract and hold the viewer throughout, that inspire thought and discussion in those who are serious about film as an art form; who view film narrative as storytelling to be absorbed and digested rather than indiscriminately inhaled and forgotten. As we continue onward in a society that is becoming ever more fast-paced and artificial, it is imperative that we slow down where we can to remember the importance of telling stories. Ever since our earliest days sitting around campfires, storytelling through performance has shielded mankind from the harsh realities of life as well as inspired us to be better people, both spiritually and otherwise. My desire is for Haven Films to continue that sacred tradition in its own  small way.
